Kochi lost to AB
With the help of AB De Villiers' smashing 54* Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mahela Jayawardhene's Kochi Tuskur Kerala in their opening match in 4th edition of Indian Premier League. This was Kochi's debut match in IPl.
RCB won with six wickets and eight balls to spare but it was not a easy win for them.
The match changed when Kochi skipper Mahela Jayawardene brought on local lad Raiphi Vincent Gomez with Bangalore requiring 33 from the last three overs. This over turned the whole match with AB smashing the ball all over the park twice.
Initialy Openers of Kochi, Brandon Macculum & V V S Laxman had given the good opening stand to their team. But, they failed the run rate keep going after Maccumum depart & got ended with score of 162/4.
